Toyota Recalls MY 2000-2003 Tundra Pickups For Corrosion Issue

Toyota declared yesterday that it is recalling MY 2000-2003 Tundra pickups in cold-climate areas cod to potentially unrestrained corrosion on the side cross-member assembly. Two adverse consequences could result from this corrosion: (1) the spare tire, which is mounted to the assembly, could start soured and create a hazard for nearby vehicles; and (2) the rear brake distinction could embellish compromised, causing the side brushwood circuits to fail. Starting in December, Toyota will inspect affected vehicles and either administer a corrosion-resistant compound or change the assembly, all free of charge.
